Welcome Method Gallery

The Tashiro Kaplan building is now home to a new, independent, contemporary art gallery. METHOD Gallery occupies the large, window-lit space at the front of Project 106, a collection of new studios and commercial units built out in the long dormant, 4500 SF Tashiro basement space underneath 4Culture. TK Commercial space coordinator, Paul McKee, took over tenancy of the space, and designed and constructed the units. It is shaping up aesthetically, and as a new hub for activity during artwalk and other events. The TK welcomes Paul, his partners at Method, and all his tenants.
From the Method Gallery website:

METHOD exhibits art that is experimental, forward-thinking, unconventional, and predominantly based in sculpture, installation, new media, or performance.

It might be easier to say what METHOD is not: It is not a commercial gallery.  It is not an on-site studio space. And it is not a cooperative gallery devoted to exhibiting members’ art, although its founders and curators — Mary Coss, Paul D. McKee, June Sekiguchi, and Paula Stokes — are established, working artists who will occasionally exhibit in the space.
