Sapience Dance Collective presents:
While We Are Human
3 weekends, June 29-July 15, 2012
Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm
Sundays at 5pm
At The TK Vandenbrink Community Room
While We Are Human is an immersive performance experience which explores the wilderness in the city and the animal within human nature, revealing the deeply varied nuances of human desires and the complexities of living in community. Directed by Victoria Jacobs in collaboration with collective members Sarah Seder, Lilah Steece and Amy Weaver, Human is rich with striking imagery, unique movement and a deeply tender questioning of what to do, who we are, and how to live together… While We Are Human.
Audience members choose their own point of view in a 360 degree set designed by Willow Fox. The original sound score will be performed live by composer Nathan Seder. The lush, elaborate costumes are created by Amy Weaver.
While We Are Human originated as a collaboratively choreographed piece which was shown as a work in progress at The Erickson Theater in Seattle in 2010. In 2011 Sapience toured an evening length version of Species directed by Lilah Steece to the Vancouver International Fringe Festival in B.C. Now we present an entirely new creation.
