Artist’s Statement:

I see the artist as an observer & journalist–creating images (stories) that document and confirm our existence. The most ordinary objects occupying our daily lives become grist for unwrapping our cultural idiosyncrasies–often revealing humor and unintended ironies. ¬†Anthropologists continue ¬†to show us that we are not only remembered by the larger historical markers, but also by the used-up and discarded trinkets we leave behind. Recent paintings I have “cluttered” with images of teapots, antique Japanese dolls, used paint tubes, old cars and hedgehogs–to name a few,¬† just stuff not noticed or left behind.
